Amazon referral fee for Grocery and Gourmet (2026)
Amazon's referral fee for Grocery and Gourmet is 8% at $15 or less, 15% above $15: the price decides the rate for the whole sale. There is no per-item minimum in this category. Here is what that comes to at the prices these products usually sell for, and what to watch when you set a price.
If you refund the buyer, Amazon gives back the referral fee less $0.48 (its refund administration fee).

What to watch when you price
- Prices from $15.01 to $16.22 leave you less than $15.00 does. Above $15.00 the whole price pays 15% instead of 8%: at $15.00 you keep $13.80 after the referral fee, at $16.22 only $13.79. Price at $15.00 or below, or at $16.23 and up.
- Shipping counts. The fee is on the total the buyer pays, so shipping and gift wrap the buyer pays on a merchant-fulfilled order are charged at this category's rate too (and can push the price into the next band). Sales tax isn't.
When you refund a buyer
Amazon gives back the referral fee minus its refund administration fee, the lesser of $5.00 or 20% of the referral fee. On a $15.99 Grocery and Gourmet sale, the $2.40 referral fee comes back as $1.92.
