Amazon FBA removal fee calculator
What it costs to get units out of Amazon's warehouses: the removal or disposal fee per unit and for the whole lot, and what liquidating them would pay you instead, at Amazon's US rates from January 15, 2026.
Removing or disposing of these units costs $790.00; liquidating them pays you $304.00. A removal gets the units back to sell elsewhere: worth it when they would sell for more than $5.47 each plus your shipping.
How Amazon charges to remove inventory
Amazon charges a fee for every unit you take out of its warehouses, whether it ships back to you (a removal order) or is destroyed (a disposal order): the same fee either way. It is worked out when you place the order and charged when the shipment leaves the fulfillment center, so an order placed before a price change keeps the old price.
Standard-size
| Shipping weight | Removal or disposal, per unit | Liquidation processing, per unit |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 lb or less | $0.84 | $0.25 |
| 0.5+ to 1 lb | $1.53 | $0.30 |
| 1+ to 2 lb | $2.27 | $0.35 |
| More than 2 lb | $2.89 + $1.06 per lb above 2 lb | $0.40 + $0.20 per lb above 2 lb |
Large bulky, extra-large and special handling
| Shipping weight | Removal or disposal, per unit | Liquidation processing, per unit |
|---|---|---|
| 1 lb or less | $3.12 | $0.60 |
| 1+ to 2 lb | $4.30 | $0.70 |
| 2+ to 4 lb | $6.36 | $0.90 |
| 4+ to 10 lb | $10.04 | $1.45 |
| More than 10 lb | $14.32 + $1.06 per lb above 10 lb | $1.90 + $0.20 per lb above 10 lb |
Large bulky and extra-large were called Oversize before 2026; this calculator treats small bulky items the same way. Special handling covers apparel, shoes, watches, jewelry and dangerous goods. Shipping weight is the unit weight, or the dimensional weight (length × width × height ÷ 139) for larger items when that is more. Part pounds above the last band are counted as whole pounds, the way Amazon rounds shipping weight on its other per-pound fees.
Remove, dispose or liquidate?
- Remove when the units can still sell somewhere else, or go back into Amazon later as new stock. You pay the fee plus your own shipping or prep.
- Dispose when they are damaged or expired and not worth shipping. Same fee, nothing comes back.
- Liquidate when they are sellable but slow: Amazon sells them to a liquidator and pays you the recovery value less a 15% referral fee and the processing fee above. Recovery is usually a small share of your price, so it suits low-value units more than expensive ones.
Units in a removal order placed before Amazon's monthly inventory snapshot on the 15th are not charged the aged inventory surcharge, even if they haven't shipped yet: see the FBA storage fee calculator for what keeping them costs. Amazon can also remove unsellable units automatically: set your preference (return, dispose, liquidate) in Seller Central's Fulfillment by Amazon settings, or Amazon disposes of them itself.

Removal and disposal fees come out of your settlement like Amazon's other fees. MyProfit puts every payout's lines in one statement and shows what each product really earned after fees, storage and removals.
Rates: Amazon's "2026 FBA removal, disposal and liquidation order fee changes" page in Seller Central (removal and disposal fees from January 15, 2026; liquidation fees unchanged), checked October 4, 2026. Amazon can change its fees; your settlement is the final word.
