Amazon referral fee for Home and Kitchen (2026)
Amazon keeps 15% of every Home and Kitchen sale as its referral fee. Every item pays at least $0.30. Here is what that comes to at the prices these products usually sell for, and what to watch when you set a price.
If you refund the buyer, Amazon gives back the referral fee less $0.75 (its refund administration fee).

| Sales price | Referral fee | Share of the price | Left before FBA and your costs |
|---|---|---|---|
| $9.99 | $1.50 | 15.02% | $8.49 |
| $14.99 | $2.25 | 15.01% | $12.74 |
| $24.99 | $3.75 | 15.01% | $21.24 |
| $39.99 | $6.00 | 15% | $33.99 |
| $69.99 | $10.50 | 15% | $59.49 |
What to watch when you price
- The $0.30 minimum is more than the percentage below $2.00, so very cheap items pay a bigger share: $0.30 on a $1.49 item is 20.1%.
- No price bands: every price pays 15% above the minimum, so the fee moves with the price and there is no price edge to aim under.
- Shipping counts. The fee is on the total the buyer pays, so shipping and gift wrap the buyer pays on a merchant-fulfilled order are charged at this category's rate too. Sales tax isn't.
When you refund a buyer
Amazon gives back the referral fee minus its refund administration fee, the lesser of $5.00 or 20% of the referral fee. On a $24.99 Home and Kitchen sale, the $3.75 referral fee comes back as $3.00.
