Landed costs
Enter what each product costs you, change it from a date, or import a spreadsheet.
Your landed cost per unit is what MyProfit subtracts for each unit sold. Every product you've sold is listed on Costs automatically, starting at zero.
Entering a cost
Each product has five parts: Product cost, Sea freight, Air freight, Tariff and Other, adding up to the Landed cost. Click a figure to change it: Enter moves to the next cell, Esc cancels, and the row saves when you leave it. You can also give a product a short name, shown on MyProfit's pages instead of Amazon's long title.
Use No cost entered to see only the products still missing one, and the search box for a SKU, ASIN or name.
Which orders a change applies to
Costs change over time, so each cost has dates. Before you edit, pick what a change applies to (the setting at the top of the table):
| Choice | Use it when |
|---|---|
| The current cost, since its last change | You're correcting a mistake. This is the default. |
| All orders, every period | The cost was always this; earlier dated costs are replaced. |
| Orders from today onward | A new cost starts now, and past orders keep the old one. |
| Orders from a date onward | A new shipment or supplier price started on a date. |
| Orders between two dates only | One batch cost something different; the current cost stays as it is. |
Dates can't be in the future. Only the parts you actually change count.
History
History on a row lists every dated cost the product has had. Undo reverses the most recent change, and New cost from a date starts a new cost on a date you pick: orders before it keep the old cost.
Importing a spreadsheet
- Choose Download spreadsheet. It has your products and their current costs in the columns the import reads: SKU, ASIN, Product Name, Full Product Cost, Freight Sea Cost, Freight Air Cost, Tariff Cost, Other Costs and Marketplace.
- Fill in the costs. Leave Marketplace blank for the marketplace you're viewing.
- Choose Import spreadsheet, pick what the new figures apply to, and upload the .xlsx or .csv.
A row whose SKU and ASIN you don't have yet adds that product. Rows with a negative or non-numeric figure are skipped and listed so you can fix them.
What happens after a change
MyProfit rewrites the landed cost and profit on that product's orders for the dates the change covers, then refreshes your totals. It takes a minute or two in the background. Delete removes a product's cost and its history; orders already costed keep their cost.
