Amazon owes you

FBA returns Amazon didn't reimburse by itself, the claim deadline, and the text for the case.

Amazon owes you lists FBA customer returns that Amazon should have reimbursed but hasn't, while you can still claim them. MyProfit checks your refunds, returns and settlements every night. It works for Amazon US: it needs both your settlements and Amazon's customer returns report, which MyProfit loads together only for the US.

Amazon's rules

Since late 2024 Amazon reimburses most lost, damaged and customer-return cases by itself. For a customer return it didn't reimburse, you can open a claim from 60 days until 120 days after the refund; before that Amazon is still working on it, and after that it refuses the claim. Since March 2025 Amazon pays the item's manufacturing cost, not the sale price.

What it finds

Every FBA order line refunded in full 60 to 120 days ago, with no reimbursement since, where:

  • Refunded, never returned: the unit never reached a fulfillment center (it isn't in Amazon's returns report).
  • Damaged by carrier or warehouse: it came back graded carrier damaged or warehouse damaged.
  • Late delivery, returned unsellable: the buyer returned it because Amazon delivered after the promised date, and it came back unsellable.

Partial refunds (a goodwill credit, for example), and order lines you marked as reconciled on the Returns page, are left out. Warehouse losses are left to Amazon, which reimburses them by itself.

What a claim is worth

Worth is an estimate: the units times the landed cost you entered on Costs, or the refund when there is no cost. Amazon pays the manufacturing cost it has for the item (the cost you gave it in Seller Central, or its own estimate), so the amount you receive can be lower.

Filing a claim

  1. Open Case text on a row and press Copy.
  2. In Seller Central, go to Help, Get support, Fulfillment by Amazon, and open a reimbursement case. Paste the text.
  3. Back in MyProfit, press Filed. The claim moves to the Filed tab.

When a reimbursement for that order shows up in a settlement, the claim moves to Finished as recovered, with the amount Amazon paid. Dismiss a claim you don't want to file (you can restore it before its deadline). An unfiled claim whose deadline passes is marked expired, and one that stops qualifying (the unit came back, for example) is marked closed.

Deadlines within 14 days are highlighted: file those first.
