Fee check
Fulfillment fees Amazon charged above your usual rate, and its measurements of your products next to yours.
Fee check looks for FBA fulfillment fees Amazon charged above what your product should cost, usually because Amazon measured or weighed it as bigger than it is. It covers Amazon US and is on the free plan, with no commission on what Amazon refunds.
Where the numbers come from
- Amazon's fee preview, loaded every week: the size and weight Amazon charges your fulfillment fees on, its size tier and its fee per unit for every FBA product.
- Your settlements: the fulfillment fee Amazon actually charged per unit on every order of the last 12 months.
What counts as a possible overcharge
- Amazon remeasured it: between two weekly fee previews, Amazon's measurements of a product grew and its fee went up. Every unit since is charged the higher fee.
- Amazon measures it bigger now: you're being charged more than the product's usual rate, and Amazon's fee preview gives that higher fee too.
Both come with case text asking Amazon to remeasure. File only if your product and its packaging didn't change.
Worth checking, not counted
Amazon's low-inventory-level fee (charged when your stock runs low) is included in the same fulfillment fee on your settlements, so a fee that went up for a while and came back down is often that fee rather than a measurement:
- Charged more for a while and charged more until Amazon's next fee change: open one of the orders in Seller Central and look at the fee breakdown. If the extra is the fulfillment fee itself, the case text is there.
- Probably the low-inventory fee: you're still charged more, but Amazon's fee preview shows the usual fee.
To keep comparisons fair, MyProfit compares fees within one fee season (Amazon changes its fees on January 15 and adds holiday peak fees from October 15 to January 14) and one price band (items under $10 have lower fees; orders priced close to $10 or $50 are left out), and when half your products go up in the same week it treats that as a fee change of Amazon's.
Amazon's measurements next to yours
Enter your own package size (inches and pounds, measured in the packaging as it ships to Amazon) next to a product, and MyProfit works out both size tiers by Amazon's US rules. When Amazon has the product in a bigger tier, or the same tier at a clearly heavier shipping weight, the row is marked and comes with case text asking Amazon to remeasure.
Filing a case
- Open Case text on a row and press Copy.
- In Seller Central, go to Help, Get support, Fulfillment by Amazon, and open a case about fulfillment fees or product dimensions. Paste the text.
- Back in MyProfit, press Filed.
Amazon decides how far back it refunds, so file soon after a fee goes up.
